NLS & TNC Mediation/Negotiation Summer Event

"Certificate of Participation"

(It's a badge of honour!)

Books, videos, and demonstrations alone cannot teach us how to negotiate.

In any endeavour, success depends on practise, and those who actively practise their negotiation skills regularly will find that they continually outperform every other person they encounter.

In creating confident, competent, successful negotiators, The Negotiation Club Module for "Practical Practise" is unique.

"If you a looking at learning/improving your negotiation skills, I will highly recommend the use of TNC."

Jerome Mascarenhas

"An amazing must try experience! You’ll learn things about negotiating that you never knew existed."

Alimwa Browne

"I've got far more value out of each session than I could have imagined and really enjoyed the practical element of negotiating."

Lawrence Jellicoe-Smith

"In theory, theory and practise are the same.

In practise they are not."

You are here for a reason ....

You have been directed to this page because the person who gave you the link has done something many professional people have never done in their lives... learned how to practise their negotiation AND mediation skills!

They achieved this during the Nottingham Trent Law School Summer Camp held by both the Nottingham Law School and The Negotiation Club.

This certificate of participation is proof of attendance to Day 1 - Negotiation Practise with the TNC.

SESSION 1

Learning "How To Practice"

That knowledge alone should not be underestimated!  Many people don't know how to practise their negotiation skills, and they believe that experience is the only thing they need. In order to be able to understand and recognise the vast diversity of negotiation styles, tactics, and strategies that exist, especially when practising negotiation skills for the first time, one must first learn how to practise.

Those who complete this session are extremely aware of the most effective methods to practise their negotiation skills and they are more knowledgeable than most other practitioners about mastering negotiation skills.

SESSION 2

Learning How To "Practice with Purpose"

You might think you know how to practice, but our true strength comes from understanding what it is that we're doing when we practice, and those who complete this session will have an acute understanding of how to practice with purpose; a deeper understanding of negotiation tactics than mere theoretical appreciations and an insight into tactical competence.

It is now possible for participants to employ new tactics which will significantly improve their negotiating results.

SESSION 3

Learning to Practice in a Team Negotiation

An extra pair of eyes & ears can go a long way in a negotiation and this session was all about the power of negotiating in a team.

The Observer

As a skill 'observation' is perhaps the most important skill of all negotiation masters.

  • Our position may be clear,
  • Our expectations may be clear,
  • Our goals may be clear....

... but the other party is unknown to us.

The only way to determine our effectiveness in the negotiation is through acute observation which, in itself,  can only be developed through practice.

Today we have practiced this skill as part of a team and now know it importance to impact the final outcome.

The Data Manager

Negotiations can be very complex and the ability to manage that complexity can determine the difference between maximising the available value or leaving opportunity on the table.

Unlike the unique role of the Observer this role of Data Manager is focussed entirely on the variables discussed and can play a pivotal role in co-ordinating the most effective propositions.

It is only when these roles are fully understood and appreciated can you then make negotiations truly productive in your business.

We have practiced this skill as part of a team and now know the importance and impact they play on the final outcome.

What should you do now?

As they say "Our best intentions mean nothing without taking that first step to realisation!" and that is your decision to take.  But ask yourself the following questions:

  • Do you want more success in negotiations?
  • Do you want more confidence  in difficult situations?

It's simple; our journey of practice should never end as there is always more to learn and more to practice.
